Description
Itinera is a compact Eurorack module hand built by Stefano Bersanetti, born from the experience and circuitry of the original Vertice Analog Filterbank.
It is a totally analog machine, designed to bring the peculiar character of Vertice into the Eurorack format.
Its circuitry is based on the same family of analog filter technology used in Vertice, with some updated features specifically developed for this new compact format.
Its nature is really multifaceted, because Itinera is not only a “filter”: it is a powerful tool for sound shaping, saturation, distortion and timbral experimentation, suitable both for studio work and live performance.
Its many faces can be briefly summarized into this list.
1 x fully-independent fully-analog 1974-inspired multimode Sallen-Key filter, with massive use of diodes. Equipped with Cutoff and Resonance controls and Audio and CV input. Great sound, huge presence, very natural and intense attitude, with self-oscillating resonance, easy screamy/go-crazy tones and formant-like tones.
– Independent LP, BP and HP filter modes available via switch selector.
2 x Resonance ways: the original passive behaviour, capable of producing smooth and musical resonance as well as really extreme resonance values, and an active alternative designed to reduce the dynamics inside the feedback path and push the filter into more aggressive territories.
1 x analog Audio Input / Preamplifier stage, designed to provide a wide gain range and allow the incoming signal to be pushed naturally into analog saturation.
–1 x transistor Distortion circuitry, to make it suffer. Particularly effective with percussive signals, it can boost harmonic content and produce no-compromise waveform distortion.
1 x Notch function, providing an additional way to manipulate the frequency spectrum and create more unusual filtering effects.
1 x Innesco section, providing additional possibilities for creative interaction with the filter and incoming signal.
2 x Iteratio modes, designed to extend the timbral possibilities of the main filtering section and provide additional ways of interacting with the signal.
Very huge dynamics, from classic clean tones to brutal distortion. Very useful to revitalize VSTs and other digital sources or simply to boost weak sources.
Real analog signal processing throughout the audio path.
Possibility of creating interesting feedback patches, using the different signal-routing possibilities of the module.
